Your Neighborhood Pharmacy with over 20 Years of Experience
Established in 1985, Alden Pharmacy is your neighborhood pharmacy.
Since 1917 the building located at 13203 Broadway in the Village of Alden has been a Pharmacy. In June 1985 Supervising Pharmacist, Ronald Smith, decided to give it a try and maintain the same personal service for which the Pharmacy was known.
Today, Kara Smith, PharmD (Ron's daughter) and her staff at Alden Pharmacy continue to maintain accomplishing that goal. With the addition of Alden Medical Supply located just down the street, we focus on Pharmacy and Home Health Care Services and are able to give our customers the one-on-one service that should be expected from your Pharmacy.
We are open 7 days a week and provide 24 hour-a-day emergency coverage for prescriptions. The pharmacy carries an extensive inventory of medications and receives deliveries 6 days a week to insure quick access to any medication not currently stocked. Local delivery service is available to anyone unable to come to the pharmacy.
We participate with Medicaid, Medicare, Univera, Blue Cross of WNY and Independent Health.
If you need to pick up an everyday item for your family such as toothpaste, over-the-counter medications, film or shampoo, Alden Pharmacy has it all. If it is a gift you are in need of, our Gift Gallery has unique gifts for any occasion and all ages. Our full line of Designer Greeting cards and gift-wrap will complete the package. Money orders, NYS Lottery Tickets and postage are also available. You can also pay your Time Warner Cable and Erie County Water Authority bills at our location.

Kara Smith, PharmD,
Supervising Pharmacist
Randall Smith, RPh
Randall Smith is a 1973 graduate of Alden High School and the class of 1979 SUNY at Buffalo School of Pharmacy.
Pre-graduation he interned at Cy's Pharmacy in Elma, NY. After which he began his career as a pharmacist at Lancaster Pharmacy, an independent community pharmacy in Lancaster, NY. His employment there led to becoming Supervising Pharmacist and then an opportunity to join the ownership team, which he did in 1985.
In 1989, Randy moved on to other staff positions in community pharmacy working at Forster's Pharmacy in Blasdell,NY and eventually Main St Pharmacy in Buffalo, NY.
Today Randy splits his time between Main St Pharmacy, a closed pharmacy servicing long-term care and hospice accounts and Alden Pharmacy, another independent pharmacy where he has been employed for 20 years.
Randy has resided in Williamsville, NY for 25 years with his wife Elaine and they are the proud parents of a son Alex, 17 and daughter Lauren, 13. He is involved in his children's sport and school activities as well as enjoying as much travel as possible, in his free time.
Anne Sowinski, RPh
Anne has lived all her life in Akron, NY. She graduated in 1986 from the Albany College of Pharmacy in Albany, NY.
Anne has been married to her husband John for over twenty years and they have three children. Her daughter Abbey is a student at Genesee Community College, Peter attends Alfred University and Alicia is Junior at Akron High School. Alicia is also an employee of the Alden Pharmacy and is considering a career as a pharmacist.
In her “spare” time, Anne enjoys vacationing with her family, gardening and cooking.
